Overview and Responsibilities

The Dean of Allied Health reports directly to the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs, and provides overall leadership for 7 health sciences majors, the majority of which are at the baccalaureate level, consisting of: diagnostic medical sonography, medical laboratory science, medical radiography, neurodiagnostic technology, nuclear medicine technology, radiation therapy, and respiratory care.

The Dean of Allied Health has oversight of: the division’s budget; faculty and staff hire, development, and evaluation; program development, evaluation, and accreditation.


The successful candidate will have obtained an earned doctorate in a discipline related to either curriculum and instruction, academic administration and/or leadership or adult education, from an accredited institution. The successful candidate will have:

  1. Knowledge and experience in a) educational practices and procedures within a higher education institution; b) assessment of student learning; and c) various teaching modalities.
  2. Five (5) years of progressively responsible and significant educational leadership at a baccalaureate granting institution.
  3. The ability to develop, implement, and manage academic programs.
