Functions as the Chief Academic Officer of the College. Administratively responsible for oversight of the College’s academic programs through coordination of the responsibilities of the deans/directors of academic and other related services. Reports to the President and directs academic and curricular planning; guides the development of consistent academic policy and priorities; and monitors continued compliance with regional and program specific accreditation standards. Serves as the campus leader in the absence of the President. Responsible for 8 hours/day, 5 days/week and for academic operations 24/7. Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.
Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited college or university in an academic discipline, educational administration, curriculum and instruction in higher education, or a closely related field.
Broad understanding of higher education trends, including accreditation, learning outcomes assessment, and models of teaching, learning, and educational delivery.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills building for and sustaining a culture of collaborative leadership.
Five (5) years college teaching in an academic discipline.
Five (5) years progressively responsible administrative experience. |
