Directs security department, including personnel and processes, in implementing the College’s security and property-protection programs. Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Administrative Services, responsible security 24/7. Incumbents are subject to hours beyond the normal workday.
The person in this position will serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). A CSA has significant responsibility for student and campus activities and is designated as an individual to whom students and employees should report criminal offenses. It is the responsibility of the CSA to report to the Security Office all allegations of crimes.
Skill and proficiency to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations and use oral grammar as normally acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
Knowledge of legal guidelines in the principals of arrest-search-seizure as acquired through at least three (3) years experience in law enforcement, military police or institutional security and the knowledge of College policies, procedures, practices.
Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a special officer’s commission/surety bond and a firearms certificate as required by the State of Tennessee.
