Responsible for patrolling all facilities and responding to incidents to protect the safety of persons and property on the premises of Baptist College of Health Sciences. Under the general supervision of the Captain and Lieutenant, responsible for a designated security watch of 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Incumbent is subject to hours beyond the normal work day.
The person in this position will serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). A CSA has significant responsibility for student and campus activities and is designated as an individual to whom students and employees should report criminal offenses. It is the responsibility of the CSA to report to the Security Office all allegations of crimes.
Skill and proficiency to read, write, perform basic grammar, able to pass written examinations relating to in-service training as normally acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
Ability to obtain knowledge of the College policies, procedures, and practices in security, detain and search, emergency situations as acquired through a 90 day on the job training.
Valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a private protective security (armed) certificate and a firearms certificate as required by the State of Tennessee.
